“The greatest fine art of the future will be the making of a comfortable living from a small piece of land.”
― Abraham Lincoln

  • Make sure your pump is always working and turning on and off at 15 minute intervals.

  • Make sure the lid on the top of your tower is centered.  If it’s sliding to one side too much, some of your plants may not get water.

  • If it’s hot you may need to top off your tower occasionally.  If you have a 5 gallon bucket, your lid should have a spout.  Stick your finger, or some kind of dip-stick in and make sure the water is no more than 2-3 inches from the top.  If you are adding a lot of water, it’s a good idea to dissolve some nutrients into some water and add it to your tower.

  • Scrub and rinse salt and algae build up off of tower as needed.

  • Change the solution (water) every 2 weeks or so… this time frame is fairly forgiving, but don’t wait over a month.  I use a dry-erase marker to mark the change date on the lid of my towers.

  • You can remove the tower and lid if the plants are small and your tower is balanced.  Dump the bucket on grass or other plants.  It’s going to be a bit salty, so don't pour it on anything sensitive.  If your tower is getting pretty bulky, you can leave the tower in, switch the pump to stay on (usually an option on your timer) and stick a hose on one of the sides of the “T” fitting under the lid on top of the tower.  Plug the other side of the “T” with your finger and let the pump run to a seep.

  • Add water back to the bucket via the opening in the bucket lid and the the pump run.  Mix your powder nutrients with some water in a cup, or measuring cup, or something like that until it has dissolved.  Slowly pour this mixture into the tower-top lid slowly while the water is running.  You can also use a funnel to pour the mixture into the opening in the bucket lid.

  • Use the green MaxiGro until your plants are ready to fruit.  Check the web for this info, too.  Use the chart below to know how much nutrient powder to add. When your plants are ready to fruit, start using the pink MaxiBloom nutrients (pink powder) in place of the Maxi Grow.  You can use half and half powder solutions while converting to bloom for one cycle if you want.
